
The Adoor Obstetric and Gynaecological Society was founded and registered in the year 2010 with the objective of promoting academic excellence and community outreach in the field of women’s health.
The office bearers elected at the time of its inception were:

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. P. K. Shaw, who delivered an insightful academic lecture on “Doppler in Obstetrics.” This was followed by a valuable session by Prof. Dr. B. Presannakumari, who shared her rich experience and expertise on surgical techniques in gynaecology
Since its inception, the society has remained active in organising both academic and community outreach programmes focusing on women’s health and wellbeing. Academic meetings are conducted every month, addressing relevant and challenging topics faced by obstetricians and gynaecologists in modern clinical practice.
The society has played a pivotal role in organising international conferences on Fetal Medicine, attracting eminent experts and participants from across the country and abroad. In addition, two major conferences on Gynaecological Endoscopy were conducted, featuring live surgical workshops by some of the most renowned endoscopic surgeons in India.
More recently, a hands-on embryology workshop, including PGD and embryo biopsy, was organised, which received significant attention from doctors pursuing training in reproductive medicine.
The society is also actively involved in organising and supporting various academic and non-academic activities of KFOG (Kerala Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology), thereby contributing to the advancement of obstetric and gynaecological practice in the state.
Recognising its social responsibility, the society has also been actively engaged in community health initiatives, including school programmes focusing on adolescent health and health education programmes for tribal communities, aimed at improving women’s health awareness and wellbeing.
