The Wayanad OBG club was formed in 2003 with Dr. Omana Madhusudhanan as President, Dr. Shiva Kumar K. S. as Secretary, Dr. Rajani as treasurer. Various academic and social activities were being conducted from 1994 onwards. Dr. Alice Jose, late Dr. Manoj and Dr.Gayathri were leading the club in 2004.From 2005 onwards, Dr. Omana madhusudhanan, Dr. Shiva Kumar K S, Dr. Eliyamma Varghese were office bearers. We have conducted many workshops successfully on Practical Obstetrics, Endoscopy in Obstetrics & Gynecology, reduction in maternal mortality with the help of our senior faculties. Last year we conducted first State Conference of Perinatology, in association with KFOG, IAP Kerala & NNF. Faculties and delegates from inside & outside Kerala participated & the conference was well appreciated. We are regularly conducting antenatal classes and clinics under PMSMA’s scheme for tribal mothers. Our club always works in association with NGO s like Lions & Rotary club to conduct medical camp & awareness classes. We are regularly conducting MDNMSR meetings, EMOCALS & ORRT training sessions. We had actively participated in AKCOGs & CRMD meetings. Donations to needy are our social commitment. We conducted live Laparoscopy work shop with eminent faculties from all over Kerala at District Hospital Mananthavady. It was the first of its kind to be conducted in government sector.

Wayanad O G Club registered as Wayanad OBG society (WOGS) IN 2021. Now our membership is 44. Our members actively participated in covid management and covid vaccinations. WOGS conducted various Programes under SHE SAKTHI And ADOLESCENT HEALTH Activities targeting Hospital staff and College Students WOGS is perceiving Health awareness classes and Immunization camps on HPV Vaccination.

WOGS was awarded 3rd prize HPV Vaccination drive in 2025 AKCOG Members participate in AKCOG, AICOG, YUVAFOGSI Interstate academic events as Faculties and Delegates PPMD training programs are conducted regularly with support of the district health administration. We hope to do more academic and social activities for the welfare of society and women.
